Ellen originally trained as an actor at The Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, it was during that time that her passion for voice work and Shakespeare was kindled. Whilst working as an actor she toured with several Shakespeare productions, playing roles such as Titania, Dogberry/Don John, Katherina and Isabella. She also worked at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in the education department as an actor for research. She went on to study for an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre from The Shakespeare Institute and then an MA in Professional Voice Practice at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She now teaches vocal anatomy, accent and text work, as a well as other areas of vocal studies at the conservatoire on several of the acting school under-graduate and post-graduate courses. She has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company voice department, and works with the RSC education department as an associate practitioner teaching Shakespeare's text and RSC rehearsal practice. In addition she has done voice support on a variety of touring productions, including Strictly Arts award winning production, Freeman.
